"Giving hope and support to Minnesota families affected by pediatric cancer"
I am Carolyn Reller, Jaimie’s mom.  Being a “cancer mom” is something I never had a thought about, let alone something I would become just before my daughter’s 15th birthday.  I sat by Jaimie’s side during tests, chemo treatments, a bone marrow transplant, blood transfusions, surgeries, and all the other horrible things cancer brings.  I wouldn’t have been anywhere else and it pains me to think of other children being diagnosed daily and going through all of the same things.  I miss my daughter every day and have good days and bad days.  I wanted to start Jaimie’s Purse to honor what she went through and to simply help other childhood cancer families that are on their own “cancer journey”.  My goal is to be there for any mother or family member that needs help, or to brighten their day just a little.  I am very thankful for the love and support, of family, friends, and even kind strangers…all who are helping to make Jaimie’s Purse a reality.  I know that Jaimie is very proud of us.

**Carolyn currently works in the Accounting Department at Crow Wing County Community Services

""Grammy," that is what Jaimie called me. I never thought I would see one of my grandchildren fight through a serious illness, and pass away, one never does. I was fortunate, and very thankfull that I stayed healthy. I was able to take Jaimie to doctor appointments, and spend time with her and Carolyn durring Jaimie's extended stays. I had the opportunity to meet the dedicated docotors, nurses, and other support staff; together, helping children and their families fight this horrible disease. It is truly unbelievable, the number of children battling cancer. I am proud to be a part of Jaimie's Pusrse, and i know that helping families is what Jaimie would want us to do.

With more than 20 years experience in the Mortgage Industry, she is currently self-employed as a Marketing Specialist. Jaimie was like another daughter to Helen, and a big sister to her two daughters. During Jaimie's treatment for ALL and AML, their relationship grew even stronger. Being a part of our Non Profit helps fill her loss, as she continues Jaimie's legacy by helping families in need.

Jenel was born and raised in Brainerd, Minnesota; she is a Licensed Practical Nurse, specializing in Women's Health, for over 23 years. Jaimie's mom, Carolyn, and Jenel have been best friends since the age of five. Jenel has known Jaimie since the day she was born, and watched Jaimie grow into the most wonderful, loving, and caring person she has yet to meet. "Jammer" could always be counted on for her big hugs. Although Jaimie is missed, Jenel continues her legacy, by helping others through our Non Profit.
